Perks of being a diplomat: Our own line at the grocery store and a discount.
Most days it’s fab - no long Kroger/Meijer/Hannaford/Piggly lines! Other days, you’re stuck behind the guy buying thousands of rolls of toilet paper for say, the Italian embassy, to be rung through and signed off on individually, and suddenly Kroger isn’t looking so bad after all.

Felt like I was in a Seinfeld episode today at the cafe. No soup for you, Julia.

Server: Sorry, no spinach.

Me: Pie with Potato.

Server: No pie.

Me: Oh, salad with tuna, please.

Server: No tuna.

Me: Salad with—

Server: No salad.

Me: Soup with spinach?

Server: No spinach, I SAID that. Also, no soup.

Me: Ok, what do you have?

Server: Bread. And khachapuri (cheese bread.)

Me: Ok, khachapuri and…tea.

Server: Black or green?

Me: Black.

(Server comes back. No black tea.)

Had a nice lunch of cheesy bread and green tea.

Signed up for the 2011 Young Adult Reading Challenge at For the Love of Reading’s blog. I’m going all out and doing the Mega Size Reading Challenge (50 books.)
I’m starting with these two books that came in the mail today- but which one to read first? Dying to read both. Georgian chocolate an additional treat.

The new Ministry of Justice building in Georgia. It’s truly inspiring to hear how much Georgia has tackled corruption and how far its legal system is coming along.

Dave the Builder was the King of Georgia from 1089-1125 AD. He is considered one of the greatest statesmen of the medieval world. Our friend visiting from the states took these.

TSIGNI of the Day: Anything But Typical by Nora Baskin
Shown in front of a 2nd century church/fort. The holes in the wall are ‘murder holes.” The soliders inside would pour boiling water through them on to the enemies below.
